| Robotics Club FLL Team |
A new Robotics club started at the high school this fall. As part of the club we decided to run and sponsor an FLL team that is aimed at students in grades 6-8. Our high school robotics students helped to mentor the middle school students. George Perna, engineer, volunteered to run the FLL part of the club in Mr. Motherway's lab after school. This took on the robot part of the competition requirements. Mr. Ando then agreed to take on the project portion of the event requirements with his assistive technology group that meets at NAMS after school. Mr. Ando and his group researched, developed, and prepared a presentation of their "Timed Up N Go" solution.
The group in the photo is the combined team that attended the FLL competition on Saturday November 17, at Newton North High School. It was apparent at the event that all involved put in a lot of effort and it showed. From running the robot through multiple rounds, to presenting the TUNG project to a panel of judges, all students represented North Andover very well.
